September was supposed to be crazy.. Auditors are supposed to say that.. Adhukkaaga naan summa scene laam poda mudiyadhu.. It was a pretty normal month.. Maybe alerting clients very early, helped..

One majorly exciting event after Cogzidel’s 4th Anniversary was the movie launch of ‘Nalanum Nandhiniyum’.. My best friend is the music director and therefore, ‘yours truly’ was invited.. Mr.K.Balachandar had come and vaazhthified the young team.. We all had super duper fun.. Enga thala ore interviews.. All of us were proud and were honestly waiting for something like this to happen.. Worth the wait.. Some of the moments……

Adhu mudinjudhaa.. Apparom! Vaijayanthi and I met far more frequently than we have ever met in our 8 years of friendship… She was diligently helping me out in finalising a venue for my pre-wedding party.. We went to a few venues and enquired.. All these drives were precious.. Madam appointment kedaikkardhe periya vishayam (aei no bad words).. And for the people who do not know, Tommy Boy is the official nick name for Madam Vaijayanthi, Her Excellency.. If you all thought it referred to a boy, I am sorry, cant help it..

Despite her awesomely busy and erratic schedule, she herself kept calling me for all these hotel visits.. Most times she used to drive.. Profession, business, courtship, marriage, friendship, college nu evlo evlo we spoke.. (no evil eye putting!!) THE BEST!!

Apparam final a we chose the venue.. Our very own Courtyard Marriot.. I keep going there for business meetings.. For once, it was an informal gathering of friends, colleagues and well wishers.. Sujatha helped a great deal in getting this organised.. Infact she herself initiated it even without me asking her.. One more busy bee who took time off for me.. She wont read this, I am sure..

Had invited around 25 people and almost all turned up!! Was awesome fun with games, laughter, food and NO booze (for which some are still karicchi kottifying me).. Again, I should thank, Bala Sir, Anand Sir, Ravi Sir, Sundar Sir, Kaviraj Sir, Karthik Sir, Ramanan Sir, Ashwath, Jai, Asha, Srinidhi, Sowmya, Sriram, Purush, Harsh, Haresh, Raghavendar, Prabhu, Vikram and Jakan (laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast entrant).. Most importantly, Vaijayanthi and Sujatha.. And yeah, my would-be better half Arun..

Adhu mudinjudhaa.. Apparam the usual BNI meetings, invite giving and all that..

Now for the actual stuff on the blog topic..

I think it has been over 15 years since I had been to the beach.. Are you thinking ‘pathetic’?? Think think.. Thappe illa.. One fine holiday, tommy boy and me were bored.. She wanted to go shopping.. Seri nu we kelambified.. Her favourite Witco in T.Nagar went missing.. This is the, “Dei inga irundha kenara kaanam” kinda situation.. Madam ore mourning.. Apparam Just Dial ku phone panni innoru Witco address vaangi, we went and bought handbags for her.. Enakku onnu vaangi tharanumnu she was adampudichifying.. I was not in a very hand bag mood, but got one..

Then we did some window shopping in one mokka exhibition.. Stuff are priced for foreigners nu I think.. 2 aaaayiram, 2 aaayiram.. We only should say pimbilikkipilaapi and come.. We did just that..

Got a couple of music CDs.. Yet to listen to them.. Car has gone for service.. Missing it..

Apparam we decided we will go to the beach because someone wanted to have molaga bajji oh so badly.. These were her exact words, “Besant Nagar beach nallaarukkum, aana molaga bajji kedaikkaadhu”.. And there were many more statements that revolved around molaga bajji.. Then she said something about Santhome Beach.. When we landed at Marina, I ask “Idhaan Santhome Beach a?”.. She gave me one look and said, “This is Marina”.. I think I heard her teeth go ‘nara nara nara’..

And then when she realised that I had been in this city for like 27 years and have not really seen it, she said, “I wish I had known before”  :-)

The moment she saw molaga bajji, she disappeared.. Was searching for her for a while and then saw her standing right next to the kadaai.. Vittaa kaiiya kadaaila vittu andha bajji eduthu saaptruppaa.. Bajji sudra aaya asingama thittume nu she kept quiet.. The moment she had the plate in her hand, oooooooo nu mazha.. Molaga bajji a kaapaathanume nu we ran to the car.. I am forbidden to eat outside.. So just had a bite.. She challenged that I cant resist after a bite.. Heh.. Naangalaam ennikki saapadradhukku aasa patrukom? Gave it back after a bite.. But it was truly awesome..

Then we stood at the beach side for a long time.. Took some photos.. Super breeze.. I wanted to stand there like forever.. I wanted to check out the new Pothys on GN Chetty Road..

She succeeded in parking at a lane after crossing 3 fully packed lanes.. We walked back to the store.. The moment I entered, I felt as if I was entering Thirupathi.. Nejamaa.. Tholanji ponaa kooda kandupudikka rendu naal aagum.. My God how people shop.. It was raining so bloody madly and people were least bothered.. 12 floors, all floors having escalators and different themed lighting.. Oru podavaya eduthuttu varathukulla, adangappaa… Nice collection, though.. Husbands laam gaali.. Soli mudinjudum.. Saw a lot of them with kannathula kai.. Paavam..

There have been various occasions and days when I really wanted to blog.. Unfortunately by the time I reached home, lost the mindset to write about stuff.. And off late, I keep forgetting whatever happened during the day.. Not like the times when I used to remember conversations, word by word.. Anand Sir said ‘Thoppi thoppi’ for some bulb that I got, and I completely cannot recollect what it was..

The reason I made it a point to blog today was something that happened this morning.. It sort of affected me.. I was even more affected since I did not do anything about it.. A old lady was sitting on the road side with two bags by her side.. Looked like she was tired of walking and wanted to rest for a while before continuing.. It would have taken me a few minutes to go and ask her whether she wanted something to eat or drink.. But I just could not bring myself up to it.. I fail to understand why!! I just stood there for a very long time looking at her.. Then did something weird.. Took a photo, posted it on FB with a caption that said “What do you do if you saw such a woman on the road side?”.. I knew many would find it weird posting it on FB.. I don’t find anything wrong in that.. Weird, yes but not wrong.. But I wanted to know what people would do.. I wasn’t able to push myself to do anything.. Why?? There are so many incidents like these that we see everyday.. She actually might not have needed anything at all.. But still I felt guilty that I did not do anything.. Someone replied saying that they would go and ask her what she wanted.. Someone said they atleast wont take a photo and post it on FB.. But I really wonder how many would actually stop to help her out, if she needed any..

I have noticed this when accidents happen.. Hats off to people who stop and help.. Honestly I have never done that.. The max I would do is slow down to see if they are okay and move on..  I wonder why.. Not that I don’t want to. But something always pulls me back..

Apart from that, the month has been abnormally hectic.. Lost a lot of sleep and still yet to compensate.. But sort of getting used to it.. Nowadays it is easier to stay awake for a long time, than before.. Waking up is anytime difficult..

We had an awesome team lunch, a couple of days back.. Real good fun!! Lunch box a vaasal la vechitu, adhuku badhila attendance a ulla eduthutu pona story was the highlight.. We all laughed our hearts out..

Otherwise, the month has been nice.. A couple of gross misunderstandings.. A huge load of arguments with loved ones.. Had absolutely no time to spare for myself or my friends.. There were a couple of days where I could not take it anymore and I cried myself to sleep for very sappa reasons.. But this crying makes me stronger.. Car got banged on the rear bumper.. And a big scratch on the front.. Yeah, the month has been nice.. Very very nice

It takes a while for you to accept yourself and manage the guts to say, “I am what I am and to hell with your opinion”.. I am steadily going in that direction.. People do provoke me to say that I don’t care but I somehow don’t like that phrase.. It is the most hurtful statement you can tell anyone.. But what you can do is simply stop caring.. It is easier than saying it..

Despite all the above, there were a lot of smiley, laughey moments..

7. Got a Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V Android phone.. The games and applications are nice.. Battery, bad!!

Long time no blog!! Thought I should blog today since I was feeling great, both physically and mentally, after a long time.. Last 2 weeks went off on a viral fever spree.. My grandmom was here after her surgery and my mom very diligently did her daughter duty.. Romba senjitaanga.. Poor thing got a viral fever the day her mother left.. It was my turn to do daughter duty.. Naanum romba senji andha viral fever a vaangikuten..

Believe me.. None of us at home have ever got a viral fever before and we had no idea that it could be so bad.. It so totally disables you.. First 2 days u can live with it.. Resting laam irritating after that.. You would wanna move around normally but you cant.. That is the most frustrating thing..

More than the fever, the aftermath is terrible.. It took my mom and me two entire weeks to become alright..

Today was the day I felt completely back to normal.. My mom said I had lost weight.. Lost weight despite having nothing to lose.. Watte pity!!

Sunday started very late.. My mom woke me up and asked if I was feeling better.. Got up and had coffee while reading the newspaper.. My mom and dad were planning to go for lunch to a friend’s place.. I was really waiting for this Sunday and I was in no mood to do anything except laze around.. I absolutely did not feel like leaving home.. So romba getha I told them that I will order some food at home..

After convincing them, I suddenly felt eating alone at home would be boring.. Yaara koopadlam???  Three names struck me.. Was thinking of either going somewhere nearby for lunch or getting a home delivery.. The conversations:

Call 1 – Ms.V

Rrring…. Disconnect… Not reachable…  (Romba sandosam)

Call 2 – Ms.S

Me: Hi, how r u? What plans today for lunch?

Ms.S: Had been to a wedding yesterday.. Stomach upset and I have not had anything to eat since morning

Me: Oh ok.. Thought I will order some food at home and we can have lunch together.. No problem, you take care.. And blah blah the usual conversation, laughter…..

By the time this call got over, got a couple of msgs from Ms.V

Ms.V: Hi.. I am in cuddalore.. Anything important?

Me: (Naasama pochu) Oh ok.. Thought I will call you home for lunch

Ms.V: Of I left for Cuddalore only this morning..

Now I had decided I was going to eat alone at home..

Then called Mr.A to find out if we could have lunch somewhere nearby

Me: Poya manga.. Chi thu.. You asked your mom to cook and suddenly you went and told her you wanna go out for lunch.. Ozhunga veetliye saapdu.. I dont intend coming out.. Dont spoil her mood and all..

Mr.A: Seri seri ok.. Sometime this week we’ll meet for coffee..

Just before viral fever week took my car out alone for the first time, thanks to someone’s motivation and merattal.. Went to the BNI meeting.. I dont think I was that tensed even for my CA exams.. My heart was about to fall out of my mouth.. That feeling was there till I reached home in the evening.. Thankfully did not kill anyone..

Had been to an orphanage as part of Manasika Foundation.. Talented kids.. Nice that the home is able to afford a decent education for all of them..

It has been one of the most tensed days.. Rushed to office to complete a client assignment and realised that there was an issue with the internet connectivity.. Had to rush back home.. Lorry ku adila laam vandi otitu veetuku vandha, power cut.. Perfect!! Assignment a mudichu anupardhukulla (of course I had to trouble someone else badly) I thought my veins were gonna burst.. Have been continuously on the phone since then.. Dependence on technology is sometimes confusingly unbearable..

But towards the evening, I realised that there are advantages of working from home.. You do more work than what you do in office.. Was home alone so had no one to talk to in person.. Lunch a kuda system munnaadiye ukaandhu saaptudlaam.. Nadula nadula you can have snacks.. In the evening my Dad gave me some cashew nuts, badam and potato roast.. Idhellam office la panna mudiyadhu la??

A very hectic week.. But really uneventful as far as blogging is concerned..

No driving classes for two weeks.. I have sort of forgotten that I have a car..

Hmmm… Yeah!! Got caught by a traffic policeman.. Thought it was a free left and turned.. Maatinutten.. He said, ‘Neenga license, insurance, idha mattum kaamchita kelambalam’.. I was sure I had my license, but I did not even know how an insurance would look like.. Purse eduthu paatha Rs.40 and some chillarai was there.. Super!! Then I started to aimlessly search for some papers.. Enna aacharyam!! I had my insurance papers.. Comedy was it had expired just a couple of days before.. Seri rendu naal thane nu avarum perundhanmaya vitutaar.. He asked, “Insurance illana evlo fine nu theryuma??”.. I was like, “Theriyadhu Sir, naa idhu verikam police la maatnadhe illa”.. (Police la maatnaalum vaai mattum adangave illa, insurance a kandupudicha thenavattu) – my mind voice..

Have been fighting with my conscience.. We both never agree.. Or it is just that my conscience keeps telling me the blatant truth and I keep trying to justify knowing that my conscience is right.. Haiyo haiyo!!

Saw this movie called ‘Alice in Wonderland’.. Supposedly a movie for kids.. But I wonder why it had just depressing background scores, bayangarama looking characters and a sad feel.. Anne Hathaway vera idhula.. Romba kodumayana padam.. I was not even able to enjoy the happy ending.. Yuck!!

The week got over real soon.. A pretty crazy and maddening week.. But one day was super fun!! We celebrated Bala Sir’s birthday in office.. Despite the fact that it was his birthday the chief guest/star was Mr.Anand Nataraj.. I can give it in writing that the day would not have been so hilarious if not for him.. We had ultimate fun throughout the day.. Cake cutting, flowers, gifting and lunch.. Lunch time was the best of all!! Oru thayir saadhatha vechi evlo neram pesinom.. And yes paruppu fry.. Gawd!! We all were in full form

Attended the CA convocation today to receive my Membership Certificate.. I would like to write a lot about it.. Aana professional ethics la irukara oru kodi clause la edhayavadhu quote panni, professional misconduct nu soltangana?? Adhanaala na ponen, membership certificate vaanginen, vanten.. Sujatha and I had a lot of fun discussing..

Now for the topic.. I have many a times felt that people who have not ‘odhungifide to an ischool for mazhai also’ exhibit better behaviour than some people who are highly educated (atleast they claim so).. Please note: I do not mean all educated people, I am talking only about a few incidents I have seen, so no pouncing with comments, please.. Something as simple as standing in a queue.. When they know that someone is standing in front of them, what exactly is the point in going and falling over them or trying to push through the queue.. That too at a security check in a star hotel.. I have seen this in petrol bunks as well.. Is it not obvious that we need to wait for our turn? Should someone explain? In public places like these the relatively less educated seem to follow a better discipline.. They atleast bother about what others will think if we talk when a dignitary is talking.. But some of the educated are like, “So what??”.. Keeping the phone silent during a speech.. It can be done even before someone announces to do so on a mic.. But atleast after the announcement it can be done.. Nope!! This is the ultimate nuisance one can see in movie theatres..

Various intellectual, thought provoking comments!! Someone said education and knowledge is different.. I have always thought teaching and educating is different.. Reading and studying, hearing and listening maari.. Someone said if one is ruined, education is not to be blamed, but the one who is ruined.. Sword, flesh laam vechi oru interesting explanation.. A CA asked if it was a 2 mark question or 8 mark question.. I wanted to type, “Thambi nee aaniye pudunga vena, na onnume kekala”.. Someone said education teaches us humility.. Yes, most of the highly educated people whom I have met are all very very humble people.. But I wonder if it comes from education or bringing up or genes or company.. I somehow feel humility is a trait and i have my doubts if someone can actually develop it or people are born with it.. But indha nadoola konjam padichitu, enaku ellaam theriyum, naa yaarayum madhikanumnu avasiyam illa, naa nadakumbodhu yaar kaalayavadhu mericha naa yen sorry sollanum nee anga kaala vechadhu thappu, etc, etc attitude oda suthara people than!! They are the ones who triggered that particular question in my mind.. Maybe they wont think too much of themselves if they were not educated?? I wonder.. A highly debatable topic..

Okay. Am blogging again. This post definitely has nothing to do with Hilary Clinton. But a lot with hilarious (ness?) Am still wondering. Englees is a very phunny language.

I smile a lot. Sometimes I smile because I dunno what to say. Sometimes I smile cos I think the statement that the other person made annoyed me but I wish not to say anything cos there is no point. Sometimes I smile cos the statement made by the other person means absolutely nothing to me. I smile when I see a kid sitting on the pillion of a bike, tightly hugging his/ her dad, the hands would barely connect!! I smile when I see a cute puppy on the road walking crosswards. I smile when I have been thinking of calling someone and rrrrring the phone rings. Lots more.  But it is very rare that I heartily laugh. This day started with a hearty laugh. Read a chutney case blog. If you ppl haven’t read it yet, pls do, I have shared it on FB too. And yes Ganga’s blog too. Infact her blog made me smile and her sister’s comment made me laugh.

Had to get a general medical check-up done for my parents.. So thought I might as well get one along.. Blood test.. En odambula irukardhe konjam than.. Adhulayum so much was drawn.. Baed ppl.. I wanted to tell him, “Yow irukara oru litre la neeye 500 milli eduthuta, enna panradhu?”.. I know most of you are raising an eyebrow and thinking, “Oh ORU litre irukaaa??”.. Baed ppl.. Seriously

Spoke to Sujatha yesterday and we were sharing the driving class experience.. She was as usual ROFL!! We were discussing of watching the movie ‘Zindagi na milegi dobara’.. Heard it is really fun to watch.. I love that song Senorita.. Abhay, Farhan and Hrithik so totally rock.. And she said ‘Delhi Belly’ was a hilarious movie and ya she again laughed a lot just by thinking of the movie..

Imran (one of my romba too much a padikara friends) and I had a conversation a while back.. He had finished his CIMA and when I told someone that, he asked me, “Yaaru Seema?? (CIMA)”.. Absolutely unexpected and it was actually an honestly innocent question.. Laughed my heart out.. I told Imran about this incident and he said, “Solla vendidhane, Seema Imranoda girlfriend nu”.. Indha velayaatuke na varla, indha padippu vishayam pathi enkita pesadhinga nu I escaped.. Recently we recollected the incident in one of our phone conversations and he said, “Ya u can tell all these are my girlfriends”.. I said, “You are writing ACCA as well, but that cannot be your girlfriend because that is your akka” (that is how ACCA is normally pronounced as).. He laughed, by the time I was thinking that was the most mokkaiest thing anybody could think of.. After a few minutes I thought, maybe it was witty.. Therla.. Edho..

Went for driving classes.. The clutch and I seriously do not get along well.. Seriously no!! Romba enemy a iruku.. Bad..

Manasika Foundation had a visit organised this Saturday.. I had to miss it for work.. But it turned out to be a great event where the turnout of volunteers was awesome.. Lots of baby products and baby clothes were donated.. Guess this is the first visit to a trust that has infants.. More than the money I guess supplies like clothes and feeding bottles would have been of help.. Hats off Jai!!

Someone told me that they liked the car very much because it is like a friend and you feel it is alive.. Actually true.. It is like a buddy!!

Blogging has become like waking up early.. Only the start seems difficult.. Once I start writing it sorta flows.. Ok now am stuck!!

Hmmmmmm….. Oh yeah.. Was not keeping well so I decided to stay home.. Had to send a few important mails.. Apdiye sat in front of the system, calls started coming, I started calling clients, mails, calls, mails, calls and I was in front of the system till 8.30 PM.. My mom was very happy that I had decided to stay home… But by 6PM she got fed up and said, “Idhuku nee office ke poirukalam”.. But to be very honest I seem to work a lot more when am home.. In office, I have company and I keep talking.. There is a banner right above my head in office that reads, “An ounce of doing is better than a tonne of talking”.. But see na thirundhara mari laam illa..

At home there was absolutely no distraction and could complete a lot of pending work.. My mom also very decently watched me work.. Saathukudi pazham laam kuduthaanga.. Horlicks.. Ore ubasarippu.. If I stay home for a couple more days am sure she will kick me out..

Spoke to Sujatha in the evening.. It is really nice to have a friend who laughs so much.. You tell her the j of a joke and there she goes laughing and giggling away to glory and it is then that you realise that you actually said something funny.. Sometime you even wonder, was it that funny?? But it makes you feel happy in the end.. From that laughter we will remember something that happened a couple of years back and she will laugh afresh.. As if she heard it for the first time.. Gifted

Yesterday was Sujatha’s mom’s birthday.. Oh the lady ages downwards!! Specially this year she has been very very active on Facebook and has got friends and fans all over the country.. I have never seen a wall so full of Birthday wishes from every part of the country.. Guess there were a few foreigners as well.. Spirituality looks like a very very attractive trait.. She writes a lot on positive thinking, confidence and spirituality.. Awesome writer.. Appappo profile pic maarum.. Ore comments and likes.. Far more active than anyone her daughter’s age.. Guess she had a wonderful birthday.. But the best part about her is, she would have had the best birthday irrespective of whether these people had wished her or not.. Because her happiness completely depends on herself..

Spoke to Anand Sir yesterday after a long time.. A very short but fun conversation..

Saw Vijay Awards during the weekend and had awesome fun watching Siva Karthikeyan compere.. Especially when Santhaanam was on stage, “Adhinna ellaarukum orthara kooptu award kudutheenga, enaku mattum bureau thookara maari naalu pera kooptu kudukareenga”..

This Nithyanandha news is actually very bugging… I wonder how it is being made bigger than Mumbai blasts..

Finally brought myself back to blogging.. Since not many asked why I have not blogged for a while I guess the decision to take a break was a very podhu nalam karudhiya decision. Thanks to the hand few who asked. And thanks to one well-wisher who kept on reminding me to never stop. I was able to write for a long while thinking that ‘I am fine with people getting bored’. But at one point I myself got bored of what I was writing. I then realised that I need help!! So the idaivelai. Actually siru idaivelai plan panni konjam periya idaivelaya aaiduchu.. Atleast neengalam sandosama irundheenga.. Naalu peruku nalladhuna edhume thappilla..

During this break, not a day passed by without thinking of blogging.. A lot of interesting stuff happened. But unfortunately / fortunately did not feel like telling the world. That was the day I decided to take a break..

Apart from that my cousin’s wedding happened.. Was good fun meeting all sondhakaars.. We meet only at weddings..

Finally saw ‘Kungamapoo Bonda’ aka Kungfu Panda 2 – 3D.. Nice movie but grossly over-rated. 3D glasses were not of any use.. My dear kutti chathan 3D effects were far better. Cute movie.. Had fun watching it with Ganga madam.. Whenever someone in the movie was about to say Kungfu Panda she will loudly say ‘Kungumapoo Bonda’.. Without any warning the movie halted in the middle and Ganga goes out loud, ‘Huh??’ when the entire theatre is silent.. I dunno if I was embarrassed or entertained!!

There was this auto driver whom I wanted to blog about. Was returning from a client place with my colleague. My colleague said he will get down at IT expressway. Auto man um therinja maari mandaya mandaya aatnaar. Before nearing the place, “Saar inna saar, nee angiye sollindhena na ipdika left la cut apdika velacheru poirupen”. My colleague, “Innum rendu station thalli than iruku”. Again at the next signal auto man, “Ipdika kuda cut pannikunu velachery poikalam saar, inna saar nee”. My colleague started to tell me about the road. He said this road was pretty narrow but they have widened it now. Auto man, “Ellam thalaivaru pannaaru, indhamma vandhu onniyum kizhikala”. Politics na udane both of us kept quiet.. He started talking favouring his party. Very devoted thondan nu nenaikaren.. Edhirkatchiya (ippo aalum katchi) romba green green a thitnaar.. My colleague was polite enough to atleast mmm kottify.. I acted as if I did not exist.. Then he kept quiet for sometime. Suddenly out of the bue he says, “Vaaram moonu mutta (3 eggs) potukinirundhanga saar”.. I was like, “????”.. My mind voice, “Yaaru muttu potaanga?”.. I really could not figure it out.. He continued, “En paiyan ischool poitu vandhu ore aluvaran saar, mutta vekkala nu”.. Then I realised what he was talking about.. His accent was so totally thaaru maaru.. I was having fun quietly listening to him.. Then my colleague got down.. Once he got down, the auto man was like, “Inna madam appaye sollindha apdika poirupen”. I very brilliantly asked him, “Avaru than IT expressway nu sonnare?”.. He shot back, “Apdina innadhu? Avlo padiparivu irundha na innathuku auto otren?”.. I wanted to shoot myself.. Edhuna paathu seinga madam.. I said seri paathukalam vidunga.. Apparam oru otu otnaaru.. My doubts as to whether I will reach home in one piece were getting stronger by the minute.. It is a miracle that he did not kill anyone.. Gave him some extra money when I got down, not for dropping my colleague but for bringing me home safely despite his anger on the existing government.. Nadula edho TASMAC pathilaam sonnaru.. Good fun:-)

Slept for 20 hours on a Sunday.. I’ve never even dreamt of sleeping that long.. But I did.. Hadn’t slept properly the whole week.. Ellaam serthu I slept the whole day.. Got up only to eat lunch and dinner..

Taking driving classes.. Adhu oru ulaga comedy.. The tutor is sema fun.. Naanum clutchum ore sanda.. Somehow we don’t seem to get along..

Met Meena.. She had come home to invite me for her sister’s wedding.. We met after a really long time..

Met Sujatha.. Was good fun talking to her.. We don’t get to speak much over phone these days..

Apparammmmm… Office has been a lot of laughter for the past couple of days, thanks to Vimala.. She normally is busy at work.. But these 2 days she took time to talk to all of us and was she funny!! The conversation between her and the tea kaara uncle..

Tea Uncle: Yen madam paadhi, fulla saapdunga

Vimala: Illa illa neenga konjama paadhi kudunga, porum

Vimala: She suddenly realised and burst out laughing..

Me: Appa enaku purinjudhu, naa kettavalaa??

And the mokkai went on for a while.. Paavam my accountant did not have any other guy for support.. He had to listen to us..

Mumbai bomb blasts: Nothing to say.. But I hate the fact that whenever a National disaster happens, people make a joke out of it.. Pathetic..

The day started off normal.. Got the good news that someone gave birth to a baby girl.. Lot of baby birth news off late and they have all been girl babies..

A client was very impressed with the work that Manasika Foundation does.. He said he has adopted three kids in the Andaman Islands.. Silent a yaarukume theriyaama people have been doing a lot of charity work.. Okay as I wrote that sentence a topic dawned on me.. Idhu verikam topic blank a than irundhudhu.. Phew!!

There are celebrities who do charity work on their birthdays, anniversaries, katchi thondan porandha naal, katchi thondan theekulicha naal, edhir katchi kaaran veetla thirudu pona naal, first padam release aana naal, etc etc… Charity work pannitu ella kozhandhaingaloda photo eduthu endhendha paper la endhendha photo varanum nu decide panni, idha oru mukkiyamana publicity velaya panraanga..

I initially used to think, why do they have to make a scene out of all this.. Quiet a pannitu pogalaame.. Then I realised, even if it is done ‘only’ for the reason of publicity, if it is going to motivate others to do some real charity work, I guess there isn’t anything wrong.. People doing it quietly could be considered humble and modest.. But I somehow think that they can endorse their work and it is far better than endorsing a product.. There are a lot of people who buy products just because it is endorsed by their favourite celebrity.. Ethana per Ranbir Kapoor kaaga Docomo ku maarnaanga?? Why not apply the same concept for charity??

Once it reaches people it could inspire the genuine ones to start a Charitable Trust or adopt a few kids or provide for the education of a few kids.. Even if people provide food for an orphanage for a day, it will make a huge difference..

We were planning on conducting events for kids at orphanages.. Some music, dance and movies would be fun and it is not going to happen everyday for them.. That day one novel idea I noticed from the Manasika Foundation team was the Mehendhi.. The girls had mehendhi cones and applied for all the kids who were interested.. It was really nice to see the excited looks on those kids’ faces..
