Started writing this post after selecting a pretty whacky looking theme for my website.. :-) Someone asked me why I change the theme everyday.. I simply said, “Summa than”.. Someone said, “Atleast enna theme iniki potrukunu paakavaavadhu makkal site a visit panvaangalla?”.. Naa apdi yosichu maathala.. Ore theme bore adikum.. Aanalum andha reason nallaaruku.. :-) Over 1600 reads.. Idhu kuda reason a irukalaam.. Naa yaarukum kaasu lam kudukala pa.. Nambunga!!

Romba perumaya blog ku title potaachu.. Ennatha ezhudhardhu?? Watte pity watte pity!! Actually read someone’s blog which was full of criticism.. It was pretty hilarious.. Really enjoyed reading it cos of the way it was written.. I feel it is slightly more enjoyable to read something when it is written as if the person were talking.. You can actually hear that person saying what has been written.. That blog was lot of fun to read for the same reason.. My friend had shared it on FB and I in turn shared the link..

The blogger is pretty famous and has over 700 followers.. Her sense of humour is nice with respect to the way of writing.. I usually don’t have the patience to read the comments when there are too many.. But this time I somehow felt like reading the comments.. Another reason I wanted to read the comments was to find out if the author actually replied to any of them since there were so many comments.. I don’t think she replies.. Could be practically impossible.. Somebody (anonymous nu potrundhudhu) had accused her of copying the style of writing from another blog.. There were a few negative comments.. But all I was concerned about was that the post made me really laugh.. I also sensed the similarity between the two blogs and they have been written within a gap of a few weeks but still the content and style of writing was hilarious and at the same time………………………………… thought of something but suddenly i am blank.. Idhuku per than penning your thoughts!! No spitting please, its ok its ok.. hmmm ya at the same time it was something which most people can relate to..

I was wondering why people have to criticise and question when something makes them or somebody else happy.. If it made you laugh, just laugh and leave it.. I fail to understand (oh i used to hate the word fail when I was writing my CA exams.. I used to shudder when someone says that word.. Ippo edho paravaala… Aana ippo kuda fail nu sonna andha nyaabagam than vardhu.. Nightmare days.. ) why the origin or the style should be analysed.. Writing comedy a irundha enjoy pantu polaame.. I have come across a few people who have questioned my happiness and finally made me feel bad about the whole thing.. Yenda sandhosha patomnu irukum.. I think that’s really bad.. But i guess analysing such things is human tendency.. Harris Jayaraj paatu nallaaruku nu sonna udane, indha paatu mari iruku andha paatu mari iruku, indha englis paatulendhu bit adichutaan – idhelaam naane solliruken.. But i will still enjoy listening to that song.. :-) manusa payals..

Infact maybe it could be termed as negativity.. My colleague and I were discussing negativity the other day.. Whenever my dad leaves home, I have the habit of saying ‘Jaakardha’.. It just means that I want him to take care and be careful in general.. But I have seen people telling their kids when they run down the stairs to school, “Paathu jaakardha”.. Trust me it doesn’t stop there.. They say, “Paathu jaakardha, keezha vizhundhu palla odachika pora”.. !!!!??? Enaku appave edho pallu odanja maari oru feeling vandhudhum.. How will it be if someone sends you off like this?? “Paathu road a cross pannu, lorry la adipattu sethuda pora”.. :-) Kidding, I don’t think ppl are that bad.. Or are they?? :-)

Ennatha ezhudhardhu nu yosichu ivlo ezhudhiten.. My friend Ganga had blogged that I am a regular blogger and I manage to think of something fresh to write everyday.. En kashtam enaku.. But atleast avanga ezhudhinadhukaavadhu en mariyaadhaya kaapathika vendi ennoda kutti brain a kasakki ivlo ezhudhiten.. Just now my mom entered my room and asked, “Enna?? Blog a?? Vera vela kedayadhu unaku”.. Poraama…. What to do?? :-) Evvalavu thitnaalum naangalam mokka podradha nirutha maatom.. :-) Actually she is concerned that I sleep late everyday because of this.. Paasa kaara mother..

Today was a normal day.. Discussed a lot of things with lot of people.. It started with a tensed note.. But ok.. ATM la panam withdraw panni tharen nu veeraapa soltu sari comedy pannen.. I have never withdrawn money from an ATM.. My colleague who came along had good fun laughing at me.. PIN number kooda kekaama gudu gudu nu I started to the ATM..

My Colleague: Sangeetha, enga poreenga??

Me: ATM ku.. Neengathane poga sonneeenga?

My Colleague: Edhuku poreenga?

Me: Panam withdraw panna.. Neengathane sonneenga??

My Colleague: So? Poi panam eduthuduveenga.. Epdi??

Me: (Very Brilliantly) Neengathane card kudutheenga??

My Colleague: Seri card mattum poruma? PIN venaama??

Me: (Mind voice: Cha, what a great avamaanam!!) Neegathane kudukanum??

My Colleague: Keka bekka keka bekka.. Obviously she had to laugh at my innocence.. Sorry ignorance.. I mean nonsense.. :-)

It was great fun.. Despite the great insult I had a lot of fun.. :-)

Have a great sunday.. Until my next blog :-) :-)

I have never felt it so difficult to wake up in the morning, especially on the day of a BNI meeting.. Since I had woken up early and slept late for the past couple of days I was unable to open my eyes this morning.. Slept late na avlo velaya nu laam keka koodaadhu.. Adhellam illa.. :-)

Went for the BNI meeting.. Great attendance today.. Having met these people every week since November 2010, it feels nice when you meet them and the exchange of the ‘Hi’ and ‘Good morning’  is very warm.. It is nice to see people who regularly sleep very late and manage to attend these meetings, still have a wide smile on their faces in the morning.. :-)

My mom asked me when I was rushing in the morning, “Inikum presentation a?”.. Was very tensed this morning for no reason.. I told her, “Innum 5 to 6 monthsku andha bayam illa”.. :-) Only after all members we finish we get our next turn.. And the group is also growing fast.. So it might take sometime before the next turn.. Should prepare something different from what I did this time.. Today’s presentation was by an import export company’s director.. It started with an awesome video presentation with gentle music on the background.. Then continued with a spontaneous speech by the Director… Really nice that people who head organisations take pains to prepare and present.. He infact brought a videograph team which covered the entire meeting.. :-) My presentation unfortunately and fortunately was neither photographed not videographed :-) Tension la marandhu pochu… Thiruppi panna sonna kuda panna theriyaadhu.. :-)

Somebody in BNI told me that my blogs are great!! I asked him, “You read my blogs???”.. He said it has become a habit for him.. :-) Small things that make you very happy.. I was apdeee flying for a few minutes..

I was finding it very difficult to keep my eyes open.. Someone else also looked equally sleepy.. Asked him if he was unwell… He said he hadn’t slept properly so battery low!! I was content, I was not the only one who felt that way.. :-)

I rode my bike half asleep and reached office.. Had 2 cups of tea.. Spoke to my BDM.. Normally avanga than enaku boost.. Aana she herself was down with throat infection and I felt all the more miserable.. Then I went and sat alone, prepared a to-do list and started doing things one by one.. Did not speak to anyone until lunch.. Pesina velaye nadaka maatengudhu.. Now I realise why Vimala and Ramanan are very quiet in office.. :-)

Went out for lunch with my colleague.. When we asked for ‘Chicken Biryani’ the guy said, “Chicken Biryani illa madam, plain biryani, egg biryani than iruku.. Chicken Biryani iruku aana piece gaali aaiduchu”.. We said we were fine with Chicken Biryani ‘without’ Chicken!! :-) Usually chicken biryani comes with egg.. (Readers if this paragraph is already boring you, I suggest you jump to the next para :-) ) This biryani did not have egg.. My colleague raised the question, “Egg um gaali a?”.. I was thinking of calling the waiter and asking him.. Normally before I ask such questions I prepare myself for the questions that might follow from the other person.. What if I asked him where the egg is and he replied, “Chicken e illa, epdi egg varum??”.. Apdi keta na enna badhil solradhu?? Irundhaalum I called him and asked.. Na prepare pannadha oru badhil a avaru sonnaar.. “Plain Biryani la egg varaadhu madam, egg vandha adhe price aaidum (adhe price meaning chicken biryani price).. Idhu Rs.75 adhu Rs.90″.. ???!!! My colleague was like oru egg pota chicken biryani price a? Enna koduma sir..  Seri ok nu soltu I kept quiet.. Pointed my finger at me and asked “Idhu unakku thevaya? Nee saapadra quantity ku edhuku ivlo scene”.. That was my manasatchi.. Very honesht!! :-)

Did some more work in the evening.. Asked the CT division for some help and they did it within a few minutes.. I wonder if Mr.Major Karthik will read my blog, but if Mr.Anand Nataraj is reading, Sir please convey my thanks to him.. :-)

Somebody had posted on facebook today about how someone was about to faint on the road and the passers-by ignored him and went their way. Infact I felt pretty guilty about the post. I have seen a few accidents (not big though) but I have normally passed by. Tried analysing why I do that. While I pass by I have felt an immense sense of guilt but I still moved from there

I somehow am not able to figure out why. But I have also not had the courage to stop and help. Some kind of unidentified fear. I do slow down and see if anything is serious and move on once I realise things are fine.

But it was nice that my friend who had posted the status actually stopped and helped the person who was about to faint. Pray that all of us have that courage and tendency to help such people.

Another thing I have been thinking of doing is talk less. It seems to affect by concentration (already it is bad) and work. I seem to do work when I am quiet. Since I spoke so much yesterday was totally exhausted today. Aanalum pechu nikkala. :-) should really talk less!!

Smiley junction:

1. Speaking to my friend Ganga who complained that despite talking so much yesterday I did not return her call. She regularly reads my blog and is a great blogger by herself. Check out Gangs-discoverin.blogspot.com

2. Got up early today :-) but am feeling dead sleepy. Totally!!

Guess I did not smile much today and I am really very very sleepy. Before I start olarifying anything let me crash.. Gotta get up early again tomorrow. BNI!! Hatrick!!

The week is ending. Have fun. Until my next blog :-) :-) zzzzzzzzzz

It was actually a great day!! Started with a short minsaara thadai.. But ended on a super note.. The reason why this post is named ‘phone with a lot of exclamation marks’ is, I started talking on the phone at 9 AM and ended just a few minutes back.. There were very few minutes in the middle when I was not talking over the phone (but was talking to people in person).. So naal poora na vaaya moodave illa.. Many of my friends wont be really surprised but today was way lot of talking..

Infact started talking at 6.15 AM since one of my friends had come over to give a document regarding his trust, Manasika Foundations..

Then one of my other friends called regarding her CA membership form and her PAN application..

Then spoke to the SBI customer care executive (after reading my CFO‘s blog in the morning) and redeemed all the balance points I had..

Then spoke to my BDM, Suganthi.. She was already heading to a client place and we discussed a lot on the day’s client visits.. Avlo pesi that appointment got cancelled..

Before I could finish that call, I received a call from office saying there was a power shutdown.. Udane naanga than news reader a maariduvome.. Ellaarukum phone panni solliyachu.. Sonnadhukapparam, got a call that power is restored.. Enna kodumar sir?? Thiruppi oru round.. Evvalavu edanjal panraanga.. Oh gawd!!

Then spoke to Ganga regarding an audit checklist..

Went to office and there were some more conversations regarding client visits.. Finally left office and received a client call on the way.. Had to coordinate with my Finance Manager.. When I called her, she said she was just then thinking of calling me.. She wanted some letter drafted.. Since I was out my beloved Blackberry helped.. Drafted the letter and sent it across..

On the way to client office some more client calls.. Met a European client.. Spoke a lot there as well..

One of my colleagues who had accompanied me to the client office was telling me a story the whole journey.. The way he was telling I felt like I had seen a movie.. Aana true story.. Infact dialogue dialogue a nyaabagam iruku.. Adhukaaga blog panna mudiyaadhu.. When I suggested that I am blogging it, he said dharaalama podunga.. :-)

Then some more phone calls regarding the internet connectivity at office.. We picked up a car from the Tata Motors service station.. Konja dhooram pona udane car ninnu pochu.. Thiruppi we took it to the service station and told them that the defect which was originally reported has not been rectified.. While we were talking I could see a board right at the place where we were standing.. Here goes:

As we finished talking the guy who was driving, applied the reverse gear.. I noticed that a service station employee was standing behind the car and drinking water.. Afraid that he was gonna hit him I told him “Paathu pinnaadi orthar nikkaraaru”.. Guess what the driver replied.. He turned and saw who that was and then said “Avana vidunga, avan laam setthaa thappilla”.. ???!!!!

Somebody asked, “Sir, vandila petrol iruka??” Mudiyala!!!

While I was waiting at the service station I spoke to a few clients.. Spoke to my HR Recruiter.. Idhuku laam nadula customer care call from Tata Docomo.. The only call in the entire day, that I did not enjoy!! :-)

Halted at Anand Sir’s place for a couple of minutes.. Met Burger Boy, his doggy.. A cute pug.. Aana perusu.. I was imagining someone very kutti.. He was almost Burger ‘Man’… :-) I am still wondering why Mr.Anand profusely thanked me.. He said, “Neraya thank you sonna neengathan unga smiley junction la poduveengale”.. I said “Illanaalume you will somehow enter my smiley junction”.. :-) Joke nu solla mudiyaadhu.. Aana avaru sirichaaru.. :-)

Finally had lunch at 4 PM.. Just before lunch spoke to my CFO regarding the day’s client visit… That was a long conversation.. During lunch, a few client calls.. And yes my colleague continued his story.. Kozhandhaiku kadha solli saapaadu kudukara mari, I ate while listening to the story and surprisingly I ate a lot today.. :-)

Then on the way back to office, had a con-call with a client and my CFO.. Of course I did not talk much..

Got back to office and still had the energy to narrate the above incidents to people in office because there was a minsaara thadai again.. Once the power resumed, made a few more client calls.. Had a talk with my BDE..

Once all client calls got over, I got back home pretty early today..

A phone call with my CFO started at 19.34 hours for a client query.. Got interrupted for a couple of minutes since my phone got switched off for lack of battery (ipdi naal poora phone pesuna, paavam evlo neram dhan adhu thaangum??).. Resumed at 20.46 hours and ended at 22.20 hours.. Despite the fact that my CFO was also on calls the whole day and so was I, we still had a lot of stuff to discuss and plan for tomorrow and the week after.. The call somehow ended before my mom hit me with her karandi.. :-) I think she thought I was getting scoldings from him!! :-) :-)

Appo kuda na adangala.. Called my friend for another document.. Naaliki thiruppi he is coming at 6.15 AM.. This blog has started with 6.15 AM and ended with 6.15 AM.. Ippo ellarum veetla thoongitaanga.. Illana ippo kuda I dont think I will be tired of talking.. :-)

Smiley Junction:

1. Conversations with my CEO and CFO.. Always fun!! Lot of knowledge.. My little brain!! oh!!!

2. The incidents at the service station.. :-)

3. We had Pepsi at office today.. My HR manager as always exhibited his sense of humour..

4. My Data Analyst has recently started blogging.. She called me up when I was in office (she was working from home because of the connectivity problem) and asked me to mail a file from her system.. Naanum velayellam vitutu surusuruppa poi mail pannen.. I did not open the file and check what it was.. Once I mailed her she told me that the file contained her blog for the day”.. Adapaavigala.. 7. The colleague story.. Hilarious!!!

So spoke enough and wrote enough.. Have fun all of you.. Take care.. Until my next blog!!

Felt very somberi to connect my laptop (battery sethu pochu, both mine and the laptop’s). So blogging from my phone. The day was pretty hectic for no reason. I was running around but am not even able to recollect why!!

There are frequent power cuts nowadays. Once the power resumes, the internet connection becomes a problem. But I feel these power cuts are an opportunity for ppl in office to interact with each other. They are all so busy throughout the day with their work that they don’t get much time to have a leisurely conversation.

My CFO who is most of the time glued to his system comes out during these times and has a chat with all of us. Those conversations are always fun. Ramanan is always the target and he always has an answer to all bullets shot at him and never fails!!

Ippo lam current pona foursquare la check-in panna mudila nu periya problem. Work a vida adhu mukyama pochu. Eniku enna arasiyal kolai list la seka poraanga nu therla. :-)

Today is dad’s birthday and he wasn’t in town. Dunno why but I have never missed him so much. He has travelled a lot when I was a kid but this time it was really weird. Thankfully he returned tonight…

So while I am writing this blog I thought of a title.. It was originally named ‘So much to write, but no title’. But now am naming it ‘power cut conversations’ Then I decided maybe I should name it in Tamil. Asked my mom “what is tamil for power cut?” Immediately she answered “Minsaara vettu”.. You should have seen the pride on her face (haiii enaku theriyume kind of look) :-) Naa viduvena?? I asked her then what is minsaara thadai?? She blinked.. Then she said “apdiyum sollalaam” :-) shabaaa. Mudiyala!! Finally thought of ‘Minsaara thadai urayaadalgal’.. Ennava irukkum nu pala per padikalaam. To all those bloggers, if you want more reads and a better google ranking, just include ‘bobby ganesan’ in your post and tags. Ppl don’t seem to get over that joke. International audience. Antartica mattum than baaki.

Smiley Junction:

1. The topic hunt and the find!! :-)

2. My CFO was telling an incident where someone did not understand what he said because he did not know the regional language. My HR gave a solution which was too funny. Wouldn’t wanna offend the language so am stopping here!! But we really laughed a lot at his spontainety!!

3. Waking up early tomorrow. One of my friends who is also a client wants to handover some documents at 7 AM on the way to his office in Perungudi

4. It has been so long since I gifted someone. Planning a surprise!! :-)

5. A client felt happy when he met us and he said it is good to know that my accounts is in safe hands. Idhellam engaluku sarva saadhaarnam nu smile pantu vandhaalum it feels great!! :-)

Have a nice ‘rest of the week’. Until my next blog!! :-) :-)

Crazy day!!

It was a crazy day!! For almost everyone in office. Being the last day for filing service tax returns, it was a huge hungama. Office boy on leave made it all the more crazy.

It is during these times, your ability to work under pressure is tested. I personally feel that I am absolutely pathetic at working under pressure. Especially when I see my finance manager so calm and composed in these situations I wonder if I can ever do that. She pulled it off yet again and since the office boy was on leave she herself went to the service tax department to file manual returns for a few clients. How many of us would’ve done that??

The importance attached to the commitments given to clients is nice. But still this last date craziness always makes me wonder if it is possible for us to plan well in advance. I wouldn’t know unless I did it but I was jus thinking if we could plan. And clients are also too busy to provide details in advance. No one to blame!!

We went to the service tax department today. Madness. She had to stand in such a long queue. Couldn’t go inside but could see the madness from the entrance. Hats off to those who interact with these ppl everyday!! Patience to the limits.

Had a long long conversation with my CEO. It is nice to have someone whom you can look up to for advice. :-)

Tomorrow is dad’s birthday and he is not in town. So boring. It is not that we celebrate much but his absence is a little bugging.

Smiley Junction:

1. My CFO blogged today. Was fun to read. :-)

2. We by mistake parked the vehicle in the building next to the service tax office. Suganthi wanted to jump across since we were running short of time. Then she decided not to, since the path was filthy :-)

3. Had lunch with CFO and HR.. As usual lot of CA articleship experience sharing

4. Apartment doggy came running to me when I went to the gate to speak to the watchman. There is always some kinda interaction

5. Someone called and said he has read all my blogs!! Indha mokka blog a padikara alavukku unaku poruma iruka?? For that he replied “mokka than, aana na adha vida mokka situation la irukardhunaala idhu paravala”.. Honesty!!!

Photography!!

I’ve loved photography from childhood.. By photography I mean taking pictures.. Normally I do not prefer appearing in photos.. That is very rare especially when I am in-charge of the photography..

When we were kids my brother and I used to avoid the cameraman in weddings.. We will make sure he doesn’t capture us in a single photograph.. avlo allergy.. Aana photo eduka sonna I will be ever ready..

Another thing i wont prefer is people posing for photos.. I always take photos when people are talking and they do not realise that they are being photographed.. Natural shots always come out well..

Thought I will share some nice photographs in this blog:

“TFG”

Slept at 2.30 AM. So ezhundhadhulendhu oru mabbu feeling I had. Oru vazhiya ready aagi went to office. There was some issue with the internet. Some troubleshooting was happening.

Spoke to my friend Ganga after a long time. Was actually feeling low for various reasons and of course the mabbu factor was there :-) Felt good talking to her. We discussed a lot of stuff. She is also an avid blogger. She also gave feedback on my blog. Honest feedback :-)

We were discussing on what I call TFG – ‘Taken for granted’. Off late I have been using this term a lot but avoided writing about it. But iniki enaku topic yosika thembu illa. So. :-)

Ppl are taken for granted in various occasions. For instance when a boss is friendly, employees think he will remain so even if they don’t perform and trigger a different side of the boss. Normally when I help ppl they think the next time they need something I am ‘supposed’ to help them out. Am willing to help. But when ppl make it seem it is my duty (while it is actually not) I don’t feel like helping. I dunno if I am right or wong but I am even on the path of saying ‘I don’t care’. Hate this feeling but it is a little too much for me to take

Ppl sometimes seem to tell me if you are humble I am gonna treat u like you are nothing. You need to throw attitude. Am still learning how to be firm along with being humble. Difficult lessons. Sometimes misleading.

It angers me!! Badly angers me!! I am not happy with the way I’m handling it. Let’s see. Should somehow come out of this sick feeling. Soon!!

Smiley Junction:

1. My CFO’s comment on my blog!! It is nice when someone despite their hectic schedule that too at 2 AM and takes time to comment.

2. The conversation with Ganga was good fun!!

3. Apartment doggy went missing. Donkey died father cried mari doggy missing my driver crying. Manushangala vida avaru naai romba mukyam. Naa kaanaama poirundha kuda ivlo varuthapatruka maataar. (Infact he would have been very happy).

When I asked my watchman where the doggy was he gave me a reply. “Carpenter laam vela seiraanga la. Adhanala naayaala nimmadhiya thoonga mudila, ippolaam naalu veedu thalli poi paduthukudhu, satthama irukaam”. :-) Dhoda!!

No backlinks today. No net connection at home so blogging from my Blackberry!!

Have a great Sunday. Take care. Until my next blog!!

Woke up at 6 AM.. Slept late and it took me some time to come to my senses and realise that the alarm was ringing.. I even wondered why it was ringing so early in the morning.. A voice in my head shouted “Hello unakku iniki BNI meeting iruku and nee than 10 minutes presentation pannanum”.. Edho sudu thanniya moonjila oothina mari I sprang out of bed.. Appo kuda I was trying to recollect when was the last time I felt this way in the morning.. Yup.. The days of CA exams were always like this.. I feel sick the moment I wake up.. But today despite all that, I really wanted to attend the meeting for the very reason that this opportunity might not come again in the near future..

Normally my mom also will get tensed by looking at me during exams.. So i decided not to utter a word about the presentation to her.. It was my turn to curse my driver this time.. Sir ooruku poitaar.. Good friday vaam.. Enna koduma sir idhu?? Went to the venue by two-wheeler.. While riding I tried recollecting what I had prepared past midnight.. As expected, I was totally blank.. Vadivel mari “Seri povom, enna panniduvaanga” nu yosichite I reached.. Saw a member at the entrance and asked him how many people have come.. (with a nappaasai that he will say not many and it will save me from some embarrassment) He said most of them are already here, good crowd.. I went ‘Naasama pochu’.. As he had said many of them had already come and it was not even 7.30 AM.. Iniki nu pathudhaan ipdi lam nadakanuma?

Was tensed but romba getha was talking to people as usual as if somebody else was going to do the presentation.. Badly wanted to have coffee.. Coffee was delayed.. Enna sodhanai!! Kadaseela tea kudichen.. Apparam konjam kannu theriya aarambichudhu.. :-) Exam hall pora verikam romba bayama irukum.. But once I enter the hall the fear sort of vanishes.. Same thing here.. And when you have a CFO who says “Paathukalaam vidu ma, dont worry”, chances of getting scared are relatively less..

The membership coordinator read a bio of Mr.Bala.. Once people heard the bio, they were totally impressed and they wanted Mr.Bala to do the presentation.. Note: Idhellam enaku presentation mudinjadhu ku apparam than mandaila eruchu.. I was not able to hear anything nor see anything.. Irundha iruppula I told a member “Boss I have prepared, so please show some mercy and let me just do the presentation”.. I did not even realise what I was talking..

I remember starting with “A very good morning to everybody” and ending with “Thank you so much, you have been a wonderful audience”.. Nadoola enna sonnen nu therla.. But I did not stop anywhere, neither did I stammer, neither did I forget.. I think I forgot to breathe also.. I hadn’t tried timing it.. But when the 8th minute struck (it was supposed to be for 10 minutes at the end of which a member rings the bell) a member alerted me saying there were 2 more minutes.. Subconsciously I noticed that but my mouth did not stop talking.. Finally after I ended, everyone clapped (that also I could hear faintly) the guy made an announcement “People, this presentation was exactly for 10 minutes” – adhuku again everyone clapped.. I went “Apdiya???” :-) Rushed to my seat to sip some water..Actually his alert at the end of the 8th minute sort of helped.. I did not even realise how long I had been talking.. Thank you Sriram..

My CFO was happy with the way the presentation went.. He had helped me prepare it despite being in a stage where his brains were about to burst last evening :-) Must thank him for giving me this opportunity.. Actually naana vaaya kuduthu maatikiten.. But still this kind of an opportunity – am glad I did not miss it!! He even sent a mail to everyone regarding the presentation once he reached office, which goes like this:

Dear Friend,

As you are aware that Cogzidel is part of a business referral organisation called BNI. As part of the membership program, every member will be given an opportunity to do a 10-minutes presentation, in any one of the meetings in a year, to explain about their business.

After the official launch happened last week, today was the first meeting of Azure Chennai Chapter. Cogzidel was the first one to do the 10-minutes presentation of this year. On behalf of Cogzidel, Sangeetha did the presentation.

I must appreciate Sangeetha for the following:

a) Firstly, volunteering herself to do this presentation

b) Secondly, a bio-sheet of mine was required to be prepared yesterday late-evening. We couldn’t take it from our site, as the site was down. She brilliantly google-searched and found my bio in Anand’s old blog, and prepared the bio-sheet.

c) Did a fantastic presentation during the meeting without carrying any script on hand. The flow of her speech was fantabulous and very clear.

This is what I call as involvement, attachment and love to the organisation you work for.

Almost all the other members appreciated her presentation and in fact, we are about to get many new deals because of her speech. One of the members were saying that he had faced all the problems that Sangeetha had listed out and was glad that Cogzidel is able to help people like him.

Let us all give a “Round of applause” to Sangeetha for her wonderful initiative and performance.

Keep up the good work, Sangeetha !!

Regards
Bala

He had even linked my name to my blog!! :-)

Told my mom about the whole thing once I got back home.. She asked me why I did not tell her before.. I said “Neeyum bayandhu ennayum bayamuruthava??”.. She agreed.. :-) She was very happy and proud of her daughter.. My dad.. Read my CFO’s mail on my phone, gave it back to me and got back to reading his magazine which I had interrupted.. Dads!!! What to do!! :-)

The nice part was after the presentation a few members asked if Cogzidel could take care of their audit requirements and statutory compliances.. :-) Idhukudhane moochu vidaama 10 nimisham pesinadhu.. The rest of the meeting was fun as always.. Somebody suggested that I walk when I do a presentation.. I told him I would have done that for sure if my legs were not shivering – Idhu than blog oda topic, in case you were wondering.. :-)

Coming to the showers, if you thought I was talking about the showers of appreciation, very sarry, No!! I meant the mazhai today.. Of course the weather was lousy and I felt sleepy.. But still rain during this time of the year is a blessing.. It was continuously drizzling while I rode back home.. Jolly.. Since many were not working today, the traffic was manageable..

Smiley Junction

1. The presentation and everything related to it :-)

2. My CEO‘s comment on my blog

Am getting addicted to your tanglish… Fact is it is making your comments & blog cool… You can expect more Tanglish from me in future :)

3. Was watching one pattimandram in the evening.. Someone was talking about ‘Udhavi panna poi ubatharama ponadhu’.. It goes like this “Naan ennoda wife oda pondicherry poitrundhen.. Innorutharu avaroda wife oda bike la vandhutrundhaaru.. .. .. Adhu avaroda wife a nu therla aana naa ennoda wife oda than ponen (laughter).. Dhideernu oru naai kuruka vara, avanga rendu perum keezha vizhundhutaanga.. Neraya adi.. Naa poi help panni avangala auto ethi hospitalku amchen.. Andha nelamaila kuda, avaru enaku nandri sonnaaru.. Innonnum sonnaru: ‘Kandippa oru naal idhe mari naa ungaluku udhavi seiven sir’.. Enakku thevedhaan”.. The narrative flow was nice and funny :-)

4. Had lunch with my CFO and HR.. :-)

5. My HR is very much involved in the 4square game now.. But now it is a war with around 4 people trying to attain mayorship of CCS.. And one trying to retain it.. :-)

Have a wonderful weekend.. Having loads of work… Nice that my weekends are finally getting occupied with something useful.. Take care.. Until my next blog!! :-) :-)

I never even dreamed of experiencing mann vaasanai in this scorching heat.. But the rain this morning despite increasing the humidity gave out a nice fresh fragrance when I came out of office.. :-) Called one of my clients and said I can come right away.. He asked me “Did you notice that it is raining outside?”.. I knew it was raining but I still thought I should go at least to enjoy the rain.. The client termed it as kadama unarchi.. I did not deny that.. :-)

I have seen in a couple of movies were people dance in the rain… Andha mari lam neja vaazhkaila yaarume panna maatangala?? I have not seen a real life incident like that.. When I ride in the rain I sing the ‘rain’ songs.. Since I wear a helmet I sing loudly with the courage that people cant hear me.. :-) ‘Oho megam vandhadho’ is such a lovely rain song which I always sing when I ride in the rain.. I will be shivering but it is awesome fun.. :-) Only when coming back from office.. I cant afford to go to office like some nenanja kozhi…

Mazhai.. The word itself is so beautiful.. If anybody by chance thought I was referring to the movie, please……..No!!! I think there is a song from the movie ‘June R’.. Though I did not feel like watching the movie I loved that song about rain..

Mazhaiye Mazhaiye,

Neerin Thiraiye,

Vaanam Ezhudhum,

Kavidhai Thuliye,

Megathin Sirippoliye..

Hoping to see more of such surprise rains.. Even if the climate does not get any cooler, a short rain wouldn’t harm much.. Summer vacation vera.. School leave kuda vida mudiyaadhu..

While writing I remembered something that was said by one of the partners in the firm i did my CA articleship in.. We were all having lunch and some discussion about rain since it was raining heavily that day and while the whole city was on a holiday we were working.. We are CAs, yeah!!! So he suddenly asked me, “Sangeetha unaku mazha na prechanaye illa la, nee than nenayave maatiye”.. I was looking at him with ????.. He then decided to explain since I was bekka bekka nu muzhichifying trying to figure out what exactly he meant.. He said, “Nee rendu rain drops ku nadoola poidlam”.. Avlo olliya irukenaam.. The rest of the articled clerks were in splits.. In fact I myself couldn’t control my laughter since that kind of an explanation was least expected.. :-) Sujatha still recollects this and laughs the same way she laughed that day.. Not a ‘drop’ less.. :-)
